This Sunday is our College Send-Off Sunday, and I want to ask each of us a simple but meaningful question: How will you show up? Let us show up with a spirit of love, encouragement, and prayer as we send our young people into this next chapter of their lives. Whether they are entering college for the first time or returning for another year, they need to know that their church family believes in them, is praying for them, and will continue to support them. Our words of encouragement and our prayers can strengthen them for the journey ahead.

Our Wednesday Night Bible Study will focus on Matthew 6:19–24 (NRSVUE) under the theme “Treasures in Heaven” – Living with Eternal Priorities. Jesus reminds us that what we treasure shapes our hearts. Together, we will examine how to invest our lives in the things that have eternal value and allow God’s kingdom to become our highest priority.

The sermon theme for the week is “What Kind of Dream Do You Have” from Genesis 37:5–11 (NRSVUE). Joseph’s story reminds us that God places dreams within us for God’s divine purposes. Yet, not everyone will understand or celebrate the dreams God has given you. We will reflect on the courage required to remain faithful to God’s vision, even when others respond with doubt, jealousy, or misunderstanding.

We also continue to make meaningful strides in serving our community. We are partnering with The Neighborhood Well to provide showers for unhoused persons in our community on Saturday, August 22nd. This partnership gives us another opportunity to embody the love of Christ through tangible acts of service while discovering new ways to engage and minister to our neighbors. I encourage you to pray for this ministry and consider how God may be calling you to participate in our ongoing outreach efforts.

As a church family, let us continue extending Christ’s invitation to others to join us for Bible Study, Church School, or Worship Service. Your invitation may be the beginning of someone else’s journey of faith.

May God continue to enlarge our vision, strengthen our witness, and inspire us to faithfully live out the dreams God has placed within us as we keep the charge of the Lord.

With hope and expectation,
