Dear New Hope AME Church Family,
Take your stumps to God and watch what new branches can shoot out. Even when life feels cut back or incomplete, remember this truth: your roots are still being watered by God. What seems dormant can flourish, and what appears finished can, in God’s hands, begin again.
This Wednesday for Bible Study, we will explore Luke 1:46–55 (NRSVUE) as we reflect on Advent II: Mary’s Song (Magnificat). Mary’s proclamation of praise invites us to consider how God lifts the lowly, strengthens the humble, and fulfills His promises through unexpected vessels. Come ready to reflect, rejoice, and be renewed.
Beginning December 12th at noon, we will enter 24 hours of prayer, concluding on December 13th at noon. To prepare our hearts, today we begin a corporate fast. I encourage you to use the supplemental devotional readings and fasting guidelines provided to help center your mind, body, and spirit. Let this time be one of focus, surrender, and expectancy believing God will meet us in prayer.
Continue to be in prayer for the family of Bishop Reginald Jackson. Pray for their comfort, their strength, and the tender presence of God as they navigate the passing of their loved one. May God’s peace surrounds them and sustains them.
This Sunday marks seven years of pastoral ministry for me. I can truly attest to God’s goodness and God’s love. It is my prayer that God continues to deepen my wrestling with the sacred text so that every sermon may nourish and strengthen you. It is also my prayer that God continues to cultivate my lived experiences, so they enhance my pastoral care. Every moment spent pastoring at New Hope AME Church is a joy and a blessing, and I look forward with gratitude to all God has yet to do.
Please take this opportunity to invite someone to worship with us on Sunday, to join Church School at 8:45 AM, and to attend Bible Study on Wednesday night. I eagerly look forward to meeting the people you invite as we continue to grow together in Christ.
Let’s Keep the Charge of the Lord!!!
With gratitude and love,
Reverend Aaron Tinch
Pastor
