Dear New Hope AME Church Family,
Continue to sit with the truth that the grace of God is enough, even when you are dealing with the thorns in your life. The Apostle Paul reminds us that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. Whatever discomfort, frustration, or persistent challenge you face, know that God’s sustaining grace is sufficient to keep you steady and faithful.
Our Ash Wednesday Service will be held at New Hope at 7:00 PM, and we will be joined by the other churches in our cluster. The service will also be streamed on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook for those who are unable to attend in person. As we enter the Lenten Season, may it usher us into a sacred rhythm of prayer, fasting, and sacrifice. Let this be a season of intentional reflection, repentance, and renewal.
Please note that there will be no Bible Study this week as we gather for Ash Wednesday.
The sermon theme for this Sunday is “A Lesson Before Dying” from Psalm 32:8–9. We will reflect on God’s instruction, guidance, and the wisdom that comes from walking closely with the Lord rather than resisting divine direction.
This Sunday is also HBCU Sunday. I encourage you to represent the Historically Black College or University you graduated from, one connected to your family, or one for which you hold deep affinity. Following worship, we will travel together to the National Museum of African American History and Culture to visit the HBCU exhibit and celebrate the enduring legacy and contribution of these sacred institutions to our community and nation.
As always, take the opportunity to invite others to worship with us on Sunday or to attend Bible Study on Wednesday in the weeks ahead. Sunday Church School is available in person and virtually each Sunday at 8:45 AM.
Let us enter this holy season with humility, purpose, and expectancy as we continue to keep the charge of the Lord.
With grace and hope,
Reverend Aaron Tinch
Pastor
