Dear New Hope AME Church Family,

Grace and peace to you.

The Lenten Season should encourage preparation and heightened spiritual awareness as we recognize how Christ prepared Himself for the ultimate sacrifice. Lent calls us to reflection, discipline, prayer, and a deeper sensitivity to God’s movement in our lives. As Jesus walked intentionally toward the cross, may we also walk intentionally toward greater obedience, humility, and love.

Our Wednesday Night Bible Study will focus on Nehemiah 9 (NRSVUE) under the theme “Remembering God’s Faithfulness: Confession, Covenant, and Corporate Repentance.” In this powerful chapter, the people of God pause to recount divine faithfulness across generations, confess their shortcomings, and renew their covenant with the Lord. Together, we will explore what it means for us to remember rightly, repent sincerely, and recommit faithfully.

The sermon theme for the week is “Now the Lord Said” from Genesis 12:1–4 (NRSVUE). We will ponder how God lays out clear plans for our lives and how obedience to God’s voice requires courage, trust, and movement. Like Abram, we are called to step forward even when we do not see the full picture.

Be vigilant in your prayers. The celebration of our culture and heritage this month has been priceless. The richness, resilience, and beauty of who we are as a people continue to inspire and strengthen us. Let us carry this momentum forward—not only in celebration, but in service, stewardship, and spiritual growth.

Take the opportunity to invite others to worship with us on Sunday or attend Bible Study on Wednesday. Sunday Church School is available in person and virtually each Sunday at 8:45 AM.

Let us remain prepared, prayerful, and purposeful as we continue to keep the charge of the Lord.

With faith and expectation,
