Dear New Hope AME Church Family,
With the temperatures being so frigid, please do your very best to stay warm and safe. In moments like these, we are reminded of Jesus’ instruction to keep an ample supply of oil, not only for lamps, but for every aspect of our lives. Preparation is essential, especially in seasons of waiting, and wisdom calls us to be ready in body, mind, and spirit.
Our Wednesday Night Bible Study will focus on Nehemiah 8 (NRSVUE) under the theme “Renewed by the Word: Understanding, Obedience, and Joy.” As the people of God gather to hear the Word read and explained, we will reflect on how Scripture renews us, shapes our obedience, and restores our joy even amid challenging circumstances.
The sermon for the week will be preached by Reverend Rodney Barnes. Let us pray for his preparation and prayerfully anticipate the faithful delivery of God’s Word through him.
This week is the Founders Day Convening at Reid Temple AME Church, taking place February 12–14. An agenda will be attached to assist with your planning should you desire to attend. Please be in prayer for Bishop Harry Seawright as he presides over his first district gathering as bishop. May God grant him wisdom, strength, and grace as he leads.
Next Sunday, if you desire, you are invited to represent a Black organization you are a part of or one you support. Let us continue to celebrate and show forth the vastness and beauty of our culture and collective contributions.
As always, take the opportunity to invite others to worship with us on Sunday or to attend Bible Study on Wednesday. Sunday Church School is available in person and virtually each Sunday at 8:45 AM.
Let us remain prepared, encouraged, and faithful as we continue to keep the charge of the Lord.
With care and expectation,
Reverend Aaron Tinch
Pastor
