Grace and peace to you.
What a blessing it is to know that the victory we have is in Jesus Christ. We are a faithful people who serve a faithful God. Through every challenge, every uncertainty, and every season of life, God has proven faithful time and time again. Because God is with us, we can move forward with confidence and hope. Do not allow circumstances to define your outlook. Instead, remember that God goes before you, walks beside you, and stands behind you. Go forward in victory.
Our Wednesday Night Bible Study will focus on Philippians 2:1–11 (NRSVUE) under the theme “The Mind of Christ” – Humility, Unity, and Exaltation Through Servanthood. As we study this remarkable passage, we will be challenged to adopt the attitude of Christ, who demonstrated humility, obedience, and selfless service. In a world that often celebrates self-promotion, Christ calls us to the higher path of servant leadership and unity.
The sermon for the week will come from Genesis 49:29–33 (NRSVUE) under the sermonic title “A Father’s Last Words.” Reverend James Turner, Jr. and I will have the privilege of preaching this message together as we celebrate Father’s Day. We will reflect on Jacob’s final instructions and consider the wisdom, legacy, and faith that fathers pass on to future generations.
Vacation Bible School is on the horizon next week. We encourage everyone to invite family members, friends, neighbors, and community members to register and attend. Classes will be available for all ages, and it promises to be a wonderful opportunity for learning, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
As citizens and people of faith, let us also remember that every election cycle is important. Take the time to research the candidates in your respective county as well as throughout the State of Maryland. Be informed. Understand the issues. Know who you are voting for and why. Responsible citizenship is one way we contribute to the well-being of our communities.
As a church family, let us commit to inviting at least one person to join us for Bible Study, Church School, or Worship Service. A simple invitation can open the door for someone to encounter God’s love and grace.
Let us continue to walk faithfully, serve humbly, and move confidently forward as we keep the charge of the Lord.
With faith and gratitude,
Reverend Aaron Tinch
Pastor
