Grace and peace to you.

As we enter Passion Week, I pose a simple yet powerful question: What is the Lord saying to you? This sacred season invites us to slow down, reflect deeply, and listen attentively to the voice of God. In the midst of Christ’s journey toward the cross, may we open our hearts to hear, receive, and respond to God’s direction for our lives.

We continue our Bible Study theme, “Hearing God in Unexpected Ways.” This Wednesday, we will focus on James 1:2–8 (NRSVUE) under the theme “Faith That Endures Trials.” As we explore this passage, we will be reminded that trials are not meant to break us, but to mature us—producing endurance, strengthening our faith, and drawing us closer to God.

We will gather with the Southern Maryland Cluster for our Good Friday Service on Friday, April 3rd at 7:00 PM at Jerusalem AME Church. Come ready to worship and praise as we commemorate the sacrifice of Christ together. Before heading to service, be sure to stop by the church and support the Men of New Hope Fish Fry.

The sermon for Resurrection Sunday will be delivered by our Presiding Elder Charles T. Sembly of the Capital District of the Washington Conference. Let us be in prayer for him as he prepares to bring forth a powerful and timely Word celebrating the risen Savior.

Take the opportunity to invite others to worship with us on Sunday or to attend Bible Study on Wednesday. Sunday Church School is available in person and virtually each Sunday at 8:45 AM.

Let us journey through this holy week with intentionality, reflection, and expectation as we continue to keep the charge of the Lord.

With prayer and anticipation,
