Grace and peace to you.

We were richly encouraged by the powerful sermon delivered by Rev. Renee Eubanks from Exodus 4:24–26. As we continue to reflect upon that Word, let us remember our role as a lifeline to our families, our church, and our community. God has positioned each of us to support, encourage, pray for, and strengthen others along the journey. Yet while we remember our responsibility to one another, let us never forget that Jesus Christ is our ultimate lifeline for salvation. It is through Christ that we are sustained, redeemed, and given hope for every season of life.

Our Wednesday Night Bible Study will focus on John 15:1–11 (NRSVUE) under the theme “Abiding in Christ” – Living Connected to the True Vine. As we study this passage, we will reflect on the importance of remaining connected to Christ, for it is through abiding in Him that we bear fruit, experience joy, and find spiritual strength for daily living.

The sermon for our Annual Motorcycle Bike Blessing will be delivered by Rev. Dr. Mark Tyler, Executive Director of Research and Scholarship/Historiographer. Please be in prayer for him as he rides into town on two wheels and prepares to preach the Word of God to us. We look forward to a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, and blessing.

Take the opportunity to invite others to worship with us on Sunday or to attend Bible Study on Wednesday. Sunday Church School is available in person and virtually each Sunday at 8:45 AM.

Please also consider supporting the YPD Jazz Brunch, which highlights our 41st Church Anniversary celebration. Our youth continue to do great things, and we are proud to celebrate them:

  • Joi will present her graduation capstone show on Friday, May 15th at 7:00 PM at the Bowie State University Fine & Performing Arts Center – Dionne Warwick Theater.
  • Kayla will be playing her violin with the orchestra on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Thomas Stone High School.

Let us continue to uplift and encourage our young people as they use their gifts and talents to shine brightly.

May we remain connected to Christ, steadfast in faith, and committed to one another as we continue to keep the charge of the Lord.

With joy and expectation,
