Grace and peace to you.
We were blessed and encouraged by the powerful preaching of Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. Dededrick O. Rivers as he proclaimed the message, “Building While Battling.” We are reminded that while the work before us may be challenging, we do not labor alone. We have the support of God. We have the support of Jesus Christ. We have the support of the Holy Spirit. With divine support surrounding us, we are empowered to continue working toward the calling God has placed upon us individually and collectively as the church. The assignment must be completed, and God has equipped us for the journey ahead.
Our Wednesday Night Bible Study will focus on Ephesians 4:1–16 (NRSVUE) under the theme “Growing into the Fullness of Christ.” This study will challenge us to consider how spiritual maturity, unity, and faithful service strengthen the body of Christ. It would be of great benefit for everyone to attend as we continue growing together in faith and purpose.
The sermon theme for the week is “This Kind Can Come Out Only Through Prayer” from Mark 9:14–29 (NRSVUE). This powerful story is also recorded in Matthew 17:14–20 and Luke 9:37–43. I encourage you to take the opportunity to read all three accounts as we reflect on the power of prayer, faith, and dependence upon God. Of course, mustard seeds will certainly be mentioned.
Please remember that the first Church Conference for this annual conference year will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 9:00 AM. I look forward to sharing about the future of New Hope AME Church and discerning together what God has in store for us. What will God have for us? Let us gather with expectation, prayer, and vision.
Take the opportunity to invite others to attend Bible Study on Wednesday and to join us for Church School and worship on Sunday. Sunday Church School remains available both in person and virtually at 8:45 AM.
Let us continue building faithfully, battling prayerfully, and moving forward together as we keep the charge of the Lord.
With faith and expectation,
Reverend Aaron Tinch
Pastor
