Dear New Hope AME Church Family,

Continue to look for and prepare for the moments where you can help someone learn more about Christ. Be available to walk beside them, listen to them, pray with them, and take the journey with them as they discover the depth of Christ’s love. God has positioned each of us to be vessels through which others can encounter hope, grace, and transformation.

As we prepare for the holiday season, let us also be mindful of those whose hearts may not smile due to grief or hardship. This time of year can be heavy for many. Show love, show patience, and show compassion. Sometimes a simple word, gesture, or prayer can make all the difference.

This Wednesday for Bible Study, we will study Psalm 136 (NRSVUE) under the theme Thanksgiving Eve: His Steadfast Love Endures Forever. Before we get to the turkey, the dressing, and the celebration, let us feast on the Bread of Life. God’s love has carried us, kept us, and continues to sustain us this is our true thanksgiving.

Our sermon theme this Sunday is “Take Your Rest” from Job 11:16–18 (NRSVUE). We will reflect on the deep human longing for peace not just physical safety but emotional, spiritual, and mental rest. Our hope is not rooted in understanding every situation, but in trusting the God who holds every situation.

This Sunday, the choir will be wearing jerseys, and you are more than welcome to join in! Feel free to wear your favorite team jersey as we worship together in joy and unity.

I am thankful for many things during this season, but among them, I am truly grateful that God has allowed me to pastor at New Hope AME Church. You are a blessing to my life, and I am honored to serve with you.

Take the opportunity this week to invite someone to worship with us on Sunday, to attend Bible Study on Wednesday, or to grow in faith during Church School at 8:45 AM. There is a seat waiting for you and for the people you invite. I look forward to meeting them.

Let’s Keep the Charge of the Lord!!!

With gratitude and love,
