Dear New Hope AME Church Family,

Work at rekindling the gift God has blessed you with. Fan the flame until it consumes you—so that the light of your gift may not only warm your own heart but become a source of strength and encouragement for others. Every one of us has something God has placed within; let’s nurture it faithfully.

This Wednesday Night for Bible Study, we will focus on Judges 19 (NRSVUE) as we examine Moral Decay and Systemic Failure. Our discussion will address the difficult but necessary topic of domestic violence and abuse. If this subject matter is personally triggering or painful for you, I encourage you to refrain from participating this week and take the time you need for your emotional and spiritual care. Still, we must not be silent—this is a topic the church must address with compassion, courage, and truth.

This Sunday is Connectional Lay Witness Day throughout the African Methodist Episcopal Church. We are blessed to welcome Ms. Glen White, President of the Washington Conference Lay Organization, as our speaker. We anticipate an inspiring word that will remind us of the call to serve faithfully and champion the work of the Lord in our daily lives.

I continue to urge you to invite others to church. This past Sunday, we welcomed three visitors, and I was deeply moved to learn two of them connected and committed to supporting one another during an upcoming life event. While we desire that visitors come to give their lives to Christ and join our fellowship, it is also beautiful to see God forming bonds of care and encouragement right here among us. Truly, God is amazing!

Please remember, there’s a place for you in Church School every Sunday morning at 8:45 AM. It’s a sacred time to grow deeper in the Word and fellowship with one another.

Let’s continue to press forward together—rooted in love, grounded in faith, and obedient to God’s call.
Let’s keep the charge of the Lord!!!

With love and gratitude,
